Adleisia is a welcoming, bilingual choral community of experienced treble voice (soprano/alto) singers who share a passion for Canadian choral music.

We are doing virtual auditions for the 2026-27 season. For the virtual audition, applicants should submit the following to adleisia@gmail.com by August 1, 2026:

- A video or audio recording of themselves singing an a cappella selection, without edits or cuts, at least 1.5 minutes in length;

- A short video demonstrating their full vocal range using a simple vocalise;

- A brief written or video introduction describing their musical background, any choirs they have previously sung with, and their comfort level with sight-reading (not confident, somewhat confident, or very confident).

We welcome treble-voice singers of all genders to audition.

Rehearsals

  • Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (near Mont-Royal metro station)

  • Around 4 additional weekend rehearsals a year

  • Bilingual direction

Repertoire

  • Contemporary, secular, varied repertoire

  • Focus on Canadian and woman composers

  • All pieces are memorized for concerts

Auditions

  1. A short piece of your choice / vocal exercises / sight-reading exercises

  2. Rehearsal with the choir

Other info

  • 2 to 4 programs a year

  • Special musical events (recordings, workshops, festivals)

  • Friendly, supportive environment

  • We’re a non-profit organization; members are always welcome and encouraged to help behind-the-scenes

  • The cost for Choeur Adleisia membership is $400 a year

  • Adleisia values inclusion and the fee should not be an obstacle to auditioning. If you have concerns about costs, please let us know as solutions can be arranged
